What the Property Appraiser’s Office means to you

The Property Appraiser is charged with the task of assessing all property throughout the entire county, maintaining accurate records, and managing a team of people in multiple locations throughout Palm Beach County. While this office is critical to the tax collection process, it does not collect your taxes.

Shelley Vana’s leadership and attention to detail have been proven time and again. As your next Property Appraiser, Shelley will make it her first priority to be sure all property owners know their rights and what exemptions are available to them. When regulations change, citizens or groups need to be informed of changes in a timely manner. Information must be easily available and easy to understand. Such information is critical to how people will plan for their lives and budgets. Palm Beach County needs a Property Appraiser who will establish an outreach program for all citizens.

Shelley Vana has years of experience with taking on complex tasks and getting real results. The Property Appraiser is charged with the task of accurately assessing each parcel of property throughout the county at least once every five years. This is best done with onsite visits. The office is also required to maintain on time and up to date records to be sure that correct tax exemptions are being applied to all property throughout the county. In addition, these records are critical to our HOAs and those purchasing or selling property.
